This PDMS Kit silicone can be used for vat/tank repairing in DLP/LCD/SLA 3D printers. Repairing your resin tank is now easy and cheap! This means that you don't have to buy a brand-new tank every time your lining gets blurred by 'ghosting'. Just remove the old lining, clean the tank, pour in a new layer and let it dry. The PDMS kit contains 250gr of material, enough for 2-4 replacements of your vat/tank linings.
How to use PDMS Kit:
Wipe clean the vat + edges with a cloth using a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to remove the remains of a resin. You can make a little mark at the height of the original height and fill the vat/tank with the new PDMS to exactly to the same height.
Remove the old PDMS. To remove old PDMS use a knife to break the seal in a corner. Be careful not to damage or scratch the tank itself. Then use a fork or similar, dig it into the PDMS a little, facing the corner then peel away from corner to remove. Peel away the rest by hand and remove all remaining bits.
Clean the vat/tank with a mild detergent in hand warm water (similar to doing the dishes). Use a very soft cloth to clean, to prevent scratches on the bottom of the tank. When drying, try to remove all smudges, dirty fingers etc.
Mix 1 part of activator with 12 parts of PDMS. For example, for a Form 2 tank use at least 46gr of PDMS silicone with 4gr of activator. Do not worry when air bubbles will appear in the mixture, they will disappear by themselves in room temperature. Mixture remains liquid for about 15-20 minutes.
Leave the tank in a place protected from heat for 48 hours. Cover the tank with clean paper to protect it from dust in the air entering the silicone.
You may need to change the first layer height in the 3D printer software.
